We climbed A mountain overlooking Tucson, Arizona and took a few photos looking east over downtown Tucson, AZ. Sentinel Peak is 2,897 feet in altitude. The large letter A was built by the UofA in 1916 and is 160 feet tall and 70 feet wide. It snowed in Feb 2009 on Mount Lemmon above Tucson, Arizona. We took a 4x4 Jeep up the mountain to review some gear and see some snow. We spent the day between 6000 and 7000 feet. We do not get a lot of snow in Tucson, so it was a treat to drive up and see these temporary views. We took these photographs on a Monday and the snow was all gone by Friday. The Plaza Colonial in north Tucson, Arizona is an example of interesting soutwest architecture. There is a prominent copper dome on the north east corner of the plaza, a fountain and a courtyard. We spent some time in the big tents at the Gem Show at Tucson Electric Ball Park. Everyone was very friendly and plenty of sales were being made.
